Mr. Saavedra was born in Havana, Cuba in 1954. He received his B.A. in 1979 from the University of Connecticut and his J.D. in 1986 from the George Washington National Law Center. Mr. Saavedra is the founding member of our firm.
Admitted to the Bars for the states of Florida, Connecticut and Washington D.C., Mr. Saavedra specializes in all aspects of corporate, land development, and business transactions as well as derivative litigation, including transactions dealing with The Bahamas. Over the past 18 years, Mr.Saavedra has represented a multitude of corporate, financial and banking institutions in the State of Florida.
Mr. Saavedra has served as Secretary and Director for the Inter-American Businessmen Association and co-authored “An Introduction to the Settlement of Unresolved Property Claims against the Cuban Government.” Mr. Saavedra is fluent in Spanish and English. Mr. Saavedra is a member of the Real Property, Trust and Probate Section of The Florida Bar. Mr. Saavedra is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Broward County Bar Association.
Mr. Saavedra has been granted the distinction of an AV rating by the Martindale Hubbell Association, which identifies an attorney or a firm with a very high and preeminent legal ability and which reflects the experience, integrity and overall professional excellence of the attorney, as well as the highest professional and ethical standards.
